New “Availability” Calendar Type!

We are delighted to offer a new calendar type to help organize precious time and environments! The “Availability” calendar type provides a block that can show current status, at a glance. It answers questions like: What is happening right now? And what is coming up afterward? It is an ideal calendar for managing room availability, but there are plenty of ways this calendar can be used creatively with any list of events!

Sample "Availability" Calendar Layout

Along the top of the block is the name of the Calendar for the current event. When no event is currently taking place, the center of the block will read as “Available” and have a neutral background. When an event is taking place, this will read as “Occupied” with a red background, and contain the information for the event. And, if applicable, a smaller section along the bottom will appear to summarize information about the next upcoming event.

To create one of these calendars, add the new block into a custom screen, or change an existing calendar block to use the “Availability” option in its Settings panel. Typical features for tailoring of the display are available for this type, as well, such as: showing end times, location, event descriptions, calendar icons, multi-day event designations, and much more. For more meticulous requirements, many “Availability” calendar attributes may be adapted to suit varying needs using our Custom CSS feature.

  1. Is it possible to not show event summary? We find it undesirable in some situations to inform about the ongoing event and only want to show “Available” or “Unavailable” with the start and end time.
