Another month and another set of awesome features we’re excited to tell you about!
Stock Quotes!
You can now display your favorite stock quotes within DAKboard. This is available in within our custom layout editor only. Add a new “Financial” block to you layout, select the stock symbols you’d like to see and enjoy up-to-date price quotes on your DAKboard!
Pull in External (text/JSON) Data
In our never-ending quest to increase the usefulness of DAKboard, we’ve created a new way to pull in all sorts of content to be displayed on your DAKboard using the new “External Data (fetch)” block type in the custom layout editor. With this, you can pull data from other sources around the internet in plain text, or JSON formatted. You can learn more about how to use this in our support article.
One simple way to use this with Dropbox is: create a new text file in your public Dropbox folder. Add some fun text to the file, and then right-click on it and copy the public link. Back in DAKboard, add a new External Data block, paste in the copied URL, and see your text up on DAKboard! That’s just one example, and we’re excited to see how everyone utilizes this!
Make a Grid-Style Dashboard with DAKboard
This one was just something fun we wanted to share. One of our users created a grid background image, then overlaid lots of different custom blocks to create this dashboard. The portrait and landscape versions of this background are available below:
Have a fun or unique dashboard you’ve created with DAKboard? Send us a photo or a screenshot, we’d love to see. Maybe we’ll feature it in our next post as well!

Dan,
It appears the stock quotes are US only, can the major global indices be made available ? I’m personally interested in the Australian indices.
Absolutely love the grid idea with the background image; I’m already working on my own version of it!
Quick question: I can’t seem to get an new projects I create in Todoist to be available in the custom layout. I only see the default projects that come with it. What am I doing wrong?
Also, is there any way to sign into multiple Todoist accounts? I would like to display the Today view for each family member as a separate block but I can only be logged into one account at a time. Yes, I could show their separate lists if they shared them with me (and if I can figure out how to display non-default projects), but then I would get all future occurrences of tasks too instead of limited to just today and overdue.
Help!
Hi Marie, Yes you can add multiple Todoist accounts. Simply add a new Todo block, and click the “Link new account” button. Also, if you’re not seeing new Todoist projects, send us a message at contact@dakboard.com with your username and we can take a look. Thanks.
