Changes to the Traffic Integration

As an effort to improve the Traffic integration and eliminate issues we will be requiring Premium plan subscribers to provide their own API keys beginning February 1, 2019.

Note: Professional and Enterprise level accounts will still continue to function without providing an API key.

There is a new “Google API Key” field in the Traffic block settings:

A new Google API key can be obtained here: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials, and there are step-by-step instructions for obtaining an API key on our support portal.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and expect these latest updates to resolve the intermittent issues with the traffic integration. Please feel free to contact our support team with any questions or problems.

  1. I followed the directions, but it just fails to find any routes as long as the API key is attached. Of course, without the key, it *seems* to work but returns no commute times.

  2. Works well for me. Thank you!! Would be awesome if you could have it show travel time to next calendar event with an address. Either way, awesome.

    1. Hi Josh, Premium subscribers will need to add their own Google API keys now. I believe Google provides users with a $200 monthly credit which should be more than enough to cover what is needed for traffic on DAKboard. Additionally, there’s no need to provide your own API key on DAKboard Professional and DAKboard Enterprise plans.
